The Masonlite Quicksilver™ electrode is a major advance for the Neon Industry. It removes the need for free mercury in the workroom. No open bottles or spillages. The mercury dose is a guaranteed consistent quantity already encapsulated within the electrode.
No special handling techniques are required, just treat the electrode as a conventional non-tubulated electrode. Weld on the tube and process in the normal way.
The mercury is dispensed into the tube after completion of the pumping and bombarding process. The tube can be sealed off and removed to the ageing table before the mercury is dispensed as this improves productivity.
Dispensing
can take place when convenient, even many days later. All that is
required to release the mercury into the tube is a transformer of
at least 50 or 60 mA.
